Bring back Murray!!!

I remember when he commentated for the BBC at last year's European Grand Prix (the race where Markus Winkelhock took the lead) biggrin.gif

In the Malaysian Grand Prix, Raikkonen won, Kubica came 2nd, Kovalainen was 3rd, Trulli was 4th and Hamilton could only finish in 5th.

Car Expert

...but Hamilton is still leading the driver's championship...
Car Expert
Kubica's on pole for BMW in tomorrow's Bahrain Grand Prix.

Massa wins in Bahrain for the second year running. Hamilton could only finish in 13th...

BMW are now top of the constructor's championship, one point ahead of Ferrari and two points ahead of McLaren.

It was a good race. I felt sorry for Button though sad.gif

Raikonnen won the Spanish Grand Prix to open up a nine point lead over Hamilton. Button gets himself off the mark with a 6th place finish.

A pity. Hope both their drivers find new teams in the future. Anthony Davidson looks like he could be a top driver with the right car...

Massa's on pole again for the Turkish Grand Prix.

I see they've changed the qualifying rules slightly after Super Aguri's withdrawal.

There is rain forecast, so it could make for an interesting race. Maybe a chance for Toyota or Renault to get onto the podium, or even Coulthard again!

Raining at the moment in Monaco. Should make it interesting!

Kimi should have left the casino earlier last night. I reckon he was still under the influence. Great race as it usually is in the wet. McLaren beat Ferrari at the strategy game for once - though possibly by accident.

There are five different manufacturers in the top five (McLaren, BMW, Ferrari, Renault, Williams), so it should be an interesting race.

Track breaking up (again), might rain, could be brake fade and brain fade - should be the most interesting race yet.

Agree - and Monaco was a great race biggrin.gif

Had Monaco run to the full 78 laps, Hamilton would have retired, he picked up a puncture on the last lap before the 2 hour limit was reached...

Great race! Good win for Kubica, which puts him top of the drivers standings, and a good third place for Coulthard - thought we would never see him on the podium again!

Hamilton's error (red=stop!) means he's demoted 10 spots on the grid in the next Grand Prix...

all credit too to Massa for a couple of amazing overtaking opportunities... once at the hairpin past Barichello and ? (can't remember) then later past Trulli when Glock made a mistake!

Good race

QUOTE(noodle @ Jun 10 2008, 09:37 AM) *

I think this and similar motor racing events are an enormous waste of fuel. We are being urged to reduce our fuel use with the implication that we should avoid unnecessary road journeys, travel by public transport, car-share when possible, yet these drivers in fast cars at high speeds spend hours driving round a short circuit wasting fuel for no reason.

Motor sport in general (not just F1) has done a great job in advancing automotive technology. Competition has bred a highly fuel efficient and reliable machine the like of which we wouldn't have anticipated 40 years ago (and I'm old enough to remember). Modern lightweight engines are amazing machines and if we drove around at the speeds we did 40 years ago and did the same amount of mileage, we would see a massive net reduction in fuel consumption. The fact is, we all like our fast cars and we like driving them. Motor sport is not the issue, it's down to us, the general public, to cut our fuel consumption.

that could make it interesting right from the start smile.gif
still if Raikonnen or Massa is on pole, that could prove an advantage to them

Both Ferraris will start on the front row of the grid. Hamilton will start 13th. Kovalainen qualified 6th, but has been dropped back five places for impeding Webber, so he will start 10th. Coulthard will now start from 7th.

Meanwhile, Coulthard has announced he will retire at the end of the season. He's always been one of my favourite drivers. Wonder if that means Barrichello will retire too...unsure.gif
