I tried measuring from tip of my thumb to my little finger.... Woah!!! It's 20cm.

I'm sure it will be longer for guys. laugh.gif

This is also an issue on how far you can stretch to your piano keys right?

Its an issue on the violin as well! I am currently finding it difficult to stretch on the D string form E to G# because i have little fingers! mad.gif dry.gif wink.gif dry.gif mad.gif

ohmy.gif I see. Now you have mentioned it. Does there other instruments that require to stretch our fingers??? blink.gif

Same as you, 20cm!

24 cm! You need to stretch your fingers on guitar a lot, and i'm sure it's the same with other stringed instruments.

18cm from the tip of my thumb to the tip of my little finger. I can stretch an octave on the piano, but no further uness I want to blur two notes together if you know what I mean.

On what Nutter said, I have a 16 and 1/4 inch viola, and it is impossible for me to play 4th fingers, I have to cross strings when I'm playing for people, or go into the 2nd or 3rd position if I want it to all be in tune. I'm asking for a 16 inch viola for Christmas.

I can stretch only an octave on the piano.

24 cm. Not bad...

I can comfortably play a G and go up to a B an octave and a bit above on piano (interval of a 10th), really stretching I can play the C above the B.

As long as you dont turn GREEN in the process biggrin.gif

I measure in at 26 cms - that translates on the keyboard to an 11th - weird sort of interval to be reaching eh - think I would have preferred just the 10th or 12th.

That wouldn't be good at all!

Comfortably on piano I can reach a 9th, a 10th if i stretch!

Yes, well, 24cm now that I'm old and stiff...this actually means my left hand feels crowded on the flute. It also means that I have trouble finding women's gloves that fit me. biggrin.gif

Viohazard at 11 has hands nearly as big as mine, so I hate to think what they'll be like in a few years' time.

19cm. i can reach an octave comfortably and a 9th if i stretch. my piano teacher isnt normal though...he can reach 13 notes without trying and 14 or 15 at a stretch... biggrin.gif
