Do you have one? Which one? Why? Do you think they're good?

My brother got one for christmas along wiith the samsung D600, he said it was a waste of money as he never uses it, though i guess if you were really busy it would come in handy

Yeah, can't really see why you'd want one.

I have to say I _thought_ it would be great to have one. Organise my whole life.. have all that information in my back pocket. I went out and spent £200 on some Palm Tungsten thing, only used it to play some half-baked word game on the train into work. Soon got bored of that. Sold it on ebay three months later for £150.
I find I prefer _paper_ records. My 2006 diary cost £4.95.
Moral of the story: save your money and buy something more exciting instead.. like this beauty, only £11,995 to you, my son:

My parents both have XDAs which they use for work. They're very useful as they're also used as Sat nav aids.
I know that I heavily rely on the calender in my mobile phone to keep track of everything and what with bluetooth and WiFi on the scene, it's very easy to synchronise everything!
Great!

My mum has one to keep track of meetings and stuff

Last week, I was appalled to see that a 10 year old was using one in a break at band

That is scary!
I don't have one, partly cos they're too expensive and partly because I don't need one!

I couldnt live without mine. The one I use is a Palm Tungsten E model.
It appealed to me because it was the company's best selling model, the price seemed quite reasonable, and it wasnt chock full of all these features that I would never use. It has the basics like diary, memos, contacts, Real Player etc etc. I see people buying these obscenely expensive mobile phones with features that they will never use. I just cant justify that. Seems such a waste of money
It all depends i guess, how often you will use it and what you will use it for. I use mine for uni so I have everything I need at my fingertips.
Lol quite a rant

I prefer paper, I tend to remember things that I see in my own handwriting. While at school, I don't think there's much use, especially think of the bashing it would take in the corridoors!

i think i would probably find one useful - i lose paper, so at the moment all my stuff is on memory stick (eg. outstanding work and when it's due in, any school files and projects, research, website addresses etc...) but i couldn't afford one and i probably couldn't justify spending the money either! it would just be useful to not have to turn a computer on to find a nice organised and up-to-date list of everything i need to do (can't print it either because my computer isn't attatched to a printer

)
oh well, dream on...maybe if i win the lottery

(don't play, so i might be waiting a long time for that one...)

Thanks for the replies guys. It's useful to have some feedback from real people rather than the company's write-up of it....
It now seems like not such a good idea. Maybe I should invest in a diary...

I don't actually see the point of having one. All the little extras on my phone have been untouched ever since I bought it in the first place. I just phone and text, might as well have bought a Motorola Brick instead.

We have a Siemens mobile phone, like this one:

It's small, has no extra features, and cost £30 for pay-as-you-go including £15 of airtime

Lol, there's no point of Bluetooth as well. I can't even send stuff to and from my computer, the connection always breaks.

I don't have bluetooth, but I don't want it. All I need my phone for is calling and texting people, and I only call and text a few people.....

I got the K750i for christmas and I never use it unless I feel liek taking a photo or calling people, I hate texting though my genie card gives me 300 a month

bluetooth is really annoying at times but if used properly can be really good, I have infrared too and also synchronisation and I have no idea what that is... though my phone also has a 2gb memory card in it so i can use it for mp3's and also the built in radio is great

though the fact that i would hardly use it means I only bought it for to play around with it, now i basically never use it

I really should too

Well, I got my phone as a free upgrade (Samsung E350E), but I wouldn't have paid the amount you have to pay for it. I use it for texting, calling and occasionally the stopwatch or timer. I do take some photos on it but not a lot, and could live without the camera.
