Do you like your age? or do you hate it?
Do you feel proud that you're X years old or ashamed?
Any reasons to why you don't like people knowing how old you are?

I'm 18 and I don't mind it now, but I cried so much on my birthday! I dunno, 18 seemed like a turning point and I didn't want things to change. Things haven't changed, so now I'm not bothered!

Er - just been discussing this in the cafe!
Well, there's nothing any of us can do about being the age we are, I guess...feeling a tad wobbly about mine at the moment but, hey, it's just a number! *slight gulp*
Being healthy and happy is more important than what age you are, I think...
And I have friends from 10 year olds to 80 year olds - and to be honest, I never think about a person's age as such - I only think about whether I like them or not! As you get older it's only the outside that gets crabby - you never really feel any different inside..

I hate cards with specific ages on them. Apart from that, birthdays are just an excuse for a biiiiiiiiiiggg party as I said in CISD thread.
Cyrilla, do you really think I'm 80??????

In like my age, 16. I am not quite at the age where I am responsible for everything, yet I am not seen as a child any more.
I have friends of all ages, and never think about their ages, as Cyrilla said.

I don't mind being 17, though I'm by far the youngest in my year at school. Still, it means that all my friends can drive and give me lifts and stuff, so it's okay!

Mar 5 2006, 12:42 PM
16 is cool. I can still get away with stuff because I can't drive, leave school and stuff, but if adults try to stop me doing stuff like they would with a kid, I can point out that I'm old enough to gamble

And I can sign for stuff myself. That makes me feel big.

I'm not that bothered. I'm 38 now, and in the last year or so I've been asked by different people whether I've left school yet and whether I've retired! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry for each of those.

I don't really feel my age, and don't really think about ages much - I've always been terrible at judging ages anyway.
I quite like my life at the moment in most respects though, so you could say I like my age or at least don't hate it.

Well I'm coming up to a major birthday later this year, but I suppose I'm not overly worried at the moment. Some of my friends are younger, some much older, and it's really as young as you feel. I think it's important to keep the inner child alive - I really enjoy kicking through leaves, balancing along the kerb, skipping, and stuff like that. And keeping a sense of wonder at the natural world around.........
And luckily for me too, a number of people I haven't seen for a good few years say I look younger now than I did then!!!!! So I guess in some ways, I feel fairly good about it! (Ask me again when I've had my major birthday and I might say different!!!

Because it didn't occur to us?
I'm 27 for the record, 28 in September.
I still get regularly mistaken for an 18 year old so I don't worry about looking old just yet, and I certainly don't feel old.

Don't *always* need a credit card for eBay. I've used eBay for the last year or so and never had a credit card to buy anything. Even a £60 box set of recorder music CDs from Spain!

I was told by my Business Studies teacher the legal age for a credit card is 16 as you can sign up for things on your own or soemthing like that, and thats why all the shopping websites in our school are banned.

Strange, I just checked online about the required age, almost every credit card says you must be 18 or over

Age has no meaning once you leave school though. I agree that it still matters, but I found out yesterday that one of my friends in first year here at uni is going to be 21 next week! I'm the youngest out of all my friends at uni. My eldest friend is 26, and I know 2 people at choir who are 30.

Well, I'll be 51 next month, and although I would quite like to look as I did 30 years ago, I wouldn't swap myself now for myself then. I'm enjoying myself - especially musically - enormously at the moment. The children are grown up and independent, financially we're reasonably well off, I have the best job in the world, and I can do all the things I couldn't afford or didn't have time to do when I was younger - it's absolutely brilliant!

No point not liking your age, as there's not much you can do about it.
Next month I have a minor celebration - I shall be 33.3333333

The approach to 30 was mildly traumatic, but I needn't have worried - I don't actually feel any older now than I did when I was 21.

I'm 34 but have been told I look 21 so I'm quite pleased about that. I don't really dress (or act) my age most of the time. Mentally I'm 16 (or even younger sometimes!). Boyfriend is 23 and sometimes he's the more mature half of the double!
36, and I had the hitting thirty crisis thing. Something about becoming a mother aged 29 and celebrating sons christening 5 days earlier didn't help. Suddenly I felt all responsible.
With clever use of hair-dye I still look in my early twenties

Many people here claim to look younger than they are... well, apparently I don't. I'm 31 and recently someone took me to be 38, and this happened just after I shaved off my long beard...
So now I'm growing my beard again, to hide my wrinkles.
