I can't believe it. I just can't believe it.

After all those critical comments the Vocal Coach made when I sang my solo at the Choir workshop, I went to my normal choir practice last night expecting laughter, derision, consolation etc.

Instead, the Choir Master and the Chairman asked me if I would be interested in singing a solo in the Summer Concert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And some people even came up to me and told me that I sounded lovely.

I am truly astonished. Gobsmacked, as my kids would say. After the workshop I had got the impression that I was useless at singing and really ought to give it up for everyone's sake.

I don't know yet whether I will take up the offer, but it was just so wonderful to be asked.
I feel really happy, but I keep expecting to wake up and find it was all a dream!

Oh, thank you. Gosh, I hadn't even thought about friends coming along to watch, eek. It will be on 17th June, which unfortnately is the weekend that David will be in Le Mans with the boys (his friends I mean, not our sons). And it will be my mother's and father-in-law's 80th birthdays on 14/15th respectively, so I need to be thinking about that too. I think the family will be getting together down in the west country for Dad (in-law's) bash on the following weekend, so that shouldn't be a problem. It's just really what to do with mum. Whether she would be well enough to travel down from Scotland. I wouldn't want to travel up to her the previous weekend, because that would just knacker me and I'll have to take really good care of my health if I'm going to commit to this concert. Oh, I don't know. I don't have to decide yet anyway, we haven't even performed our Easter concert yet. I'll sort it out later. In the meantime, Boo we ALL want to see your photo on your card [nods from everyone]!
