No, I'm not taking grade six this term. This is because I'm at university and having lessons here, but I shall be back at home (many miles away) when the July exams happen. So I think I'm down to do the exam in December (2006), instead.
Unfortunately, I have to play the Allegro in a student concert on the third of May this year, which I feel sure will be an interesting experience. Hmm...
The Poetico Vals is a really tongue-in-cheek piece, don't you think? I think that I like it, but we shall see.
Well good luck for when you take it in December! It seems such a long way off but I bet it'll come round really quickly.
Playing the Allegro in a concert will be good practise for you as if you can play it well in front of lots of people then you're sure to play it even better in front of just one person in the exam. Also, you will have had more time to practise it by the time December comes so I'm sure it'll sound great!
I did like Vals Poetico & it was very tongue-in-cheek but it just wasn't my favourite out of the three pieces. I did a lot of pedal work on it which made it sound a lot better but because the pedal was so high up in the exam I had to make sure it didn't flick up & make that silly squeaking noise!

It made it harder to play but hopefully it didn't show in my performance.
