Have you tried "La ci darem la mano" from "Le Nozzi di Figaro", alternatively I think there's one in Phantom of the Opera.

There is a funny duet for sop and bass that may well have been written by Mozart called Nun, Liebes Weibchen or you could sing Anything You Can Do or Let's Do It if you can choose a key to suit you both. Good luck with your concert when it happens. smile.gif

"La ci darem" is a great one, and you can have a lot of fun hamming it up.
The other real classic is "Bess you is my woman now" from Gershwin's Porgy & Bess. But..it's a real killer - be warned! If you can pull it off it'll be a real showstopper though!

i thought of "bess you is my woman" and have a copy and its fabulous and i love it smile.gif but as you said its tricky to get right...........not only is there all the notes to get right (well....) it needs to be stylised etc....might have a go though!!! thanks for the suggestions though and keep them coming!!!!

Minor correction - La ci darem is from Don Giovanni.

There are several soprano/baritone duets in Figaro, either Susanna/Figaro or Susanna/The Count.

Quite right! well spotted Deborah.
Yes there's the opening one when Figaro is measuring the room. Even though I've sung it I cant remember what is called. Super duet though.

When I did my GCSE ensemble performance my boyfriend, who sang with me, was a bass (he's shifting upwards now, though, and has more of a baritone quality, but that's another story). We did Papageno and Papagena's duet from The Magic Flute and it was the most fun I've ever had singing on stage smile.gif. Some awesome scope for comic acting in that duet, if you're up for that.
