Well I've got all of my offers for university now, but I don't know where to choose for my Firm offer and Insurance offer? I'm really worried that I'll make the wrong choice. The way my parent's are going on about it, they may as well have chosen my choices for me. They're really going for Edinburgh. Any advice? Please?
Thanks.
Liam
My offers are:
University of Edinburgh: BBB
University of Leeds: BBC
University of Manchester: BBB
University of Sheffield: BBC
Queen Mary, University of London: 280 points from 3 GCE A Levels, including a B in French.

Liam, have you visited them all?
If so, which did you like best - it's your life and you need to be happy with the decision.

Not all of them. I visited Edinburgh, Manchester and Queen Mary.
I really like Queen Mary and Manchester. They're the two that I want to be my choices, but my parents are really against London and prefer Edinburgh. I feel like I'm just going to end up going wherever they want me to.

If you know you like QM and Manchester, choose them. It's your life and it's up to you to live it.

Hadn't you better consult your hair sponsors? I suspect Choddy would rather you went to Liverpool or Hamburg.

Oh, I wish everybody else would see it that way. It's not just that though, there are financial limits, which is what my parent's are stressing about. They will, in some way or another, have to fund me a little bit.

Sorry?

In that case you're going to have to negotiate with them.
Ask them what it is about Edinburgh that makes them believe it would be best for you? Their answers to that may help you formulate your reasoning for why the other two would be better.

Negotiation does seem to be the best way, I've been trying to work out my finances today and seeing whether I can live totally independant of my parents!

My daughter went to Sheffield uni (she left about 3 years ago) and really enjoyed life there - in fact she and her fiance have settled in Sheffield now and are just in the process of buying a house, and several of her friends also stayed in the town after leaving uni.
I've also heard good reports from some of my ex-pupils who went to Edinburgh - and I had a FANTASTIC time at QMC when I was at uni - but that's going back about 30 years now!
You'll probably find that you enjoy yourself wherever you end up, but I agree that it should be your choice and not your parents'. Good luck with it all!

I think Choddy and others sponsor your hair as they think it is cool

Thank you, katyjay. I got rejected from UCL though, but QM would be a more than adequate substitute. I really loved it there.

Edinburgh is brilliant.
Seriously though, it's YOUR choice, not your parents.

Go where you'll be most comfortable. If you haven't already, check out
Virgin's Alternative Guide to Universities - lots of views from people who are actually at the university.
Bear in mind how much extra it will cost to live in London (the extra loan apparently does not come close!).
Good luck in choosing, and well done for all those offers!
