Well, as some of you know, it was my 19th Birthday on St Paddys day smile.gif Last night I had planned to go out with some friends for dinner. But, my girlfriend had a different idea. I went to pick her up at 8pm and then (as I had planned) we would drive and meet up with our friends. She had told me that her grandmother was over and dragged me in to greet her. Well I got the shock of my life. There was no grandmother, but there was 30 of my friends hiding upstairs who shouted surprise! as i walked through the main entrance. I have never had a surprise party before (is that strange) and so now im wondering if any of you have had a nice surpirse like that. Oh btw, it was a lovely night!

A surprise party! Lucky you! Does that mean you got no dinner then???

Cool! I got a "suprise" party when I was on a school trip last year. Somebody asked me on the friday if I'd ever had a suprise party, and I said no. Then all these people kept coming up to my friends and saying really subtly "when's it happening?!" and when I asked them wen what was happening they just said they didn't know. Then on my birthday they kept me in the canteen for ages, but I decided I got bored and walked back up to hut thing, the look out wasn't looking and walked in. I stood there for a minute and then everyone yelled suprise! Not the most successful suprise party, but fun all the same! Especially as the only banner they could find was a "Happy birthday, you/re 70" one

we had one for a friend - he thought he was just going over to another couple's house for a birthday dinner and when he arrived there were about 50 of us all waiting!!! - His face was an absolute picture!!! But he really enjoyed it - good job!
And we did something like that to my aunt once too - she was staying in a hotel in the Lake Distric and mr cd (who had just arrived home fairly unexpectedly from the Far East) and I were driving south and decided to give her a surprise - I have never seen anyone jump like that before!! (Good job we didn't give her a heart attack!!! ohmy.gif ) She hadn't known mr cd was back in the country and hadn't any idea I was going to be in the vicinity either! biggrin.gif

We set one up for my parents' ruby wedding anniversary 10 years ago. They've given us to understand that they would rather not have another one for their golden wedding this year.
