Ok, I am preparing for my Art Exam at the moment, and I have to complete 4 study sheets. I am currently trying to finish study sheet 2- about your chosen artist. As part of this sheet, I have to do a "study in the style of". What do you do for this study?? (Art teacher was not very helpful when I asked her)

Thanks
Ceri

In that case, choose something to paint - e.g. a still life - and do it with lots of VG-like swirls and colours! Just look at a few of his works, pretend you are him and go for it! If you don't have oil paints, perhaps use acrylics? (I doubt watercolour would do it justice...)

It will be fun!

Ok, I'll have a go. I've chosen a painting of these boots....very dark and lots of browns. I wish I was allowed to use acrylics or oil paints, but I have a choice of goache paint or oil pastels sad.gif. Thanks.

I know the picture you mean, Ceri - I think oil pastels will be a very good medium if you're going to do something in that style.

*wishes she had more time to do art/calligraphy* sad.gif

I did A Level art and I found that the best medium to do a "quick Van Gogh" was definitely oil pastels. Good luck,
