anyone know where i can get (legal!) concert tickets for the top pianists. Like THE top ones like perraia, kissin, pollini?

You just missed Kissin. He was at the Barbican last week.

If you check out the concert halls near you, or where you are willing to travel to, they will put you on a mailing list for their seasons brochures, then it is relatively to simple to buy the tickets from their box office.

You could also try any websites of the artists you really want to see and see if they have concert schedules. If so you can then go to the box office of the hall they are performing at.

If you have a look at my site for Maxim (link in my sig), I have a concert schedule page with links (where I can find them) to get tickets. I guess other fan sites will do similar.

Good Luck!

Just found this

Kissin tour schedule

He's at the Proms on Aug 2nd (not sure they should have that up before the Proms are announced...tut, tut!!), and at the Barbican in Sept.

And I found Pollini is playing a recital at the Barbican on June 12th 2007...plenty of advance notice there then!

thank you all. my teacher said she missed out on this years concerts for pollini and kissin, even though she tried to book them a year ago! she said thought that she has tickets for pollini this year.

Jane, yes i heard Kissin was at the Barbican. its impossible to get tickets for someone like him in such a small hall (i say small!! not really is it!)

Ive heard that the royal festival hall at the south bank has been closed. When i went on the website all the concerts had been moved to queen elizabeth hall. Can anybody confirm please?

Not impossible, you just have to book early. Why not get that Pollini ticket for 2007 now...if you book now you might get the front row! The Barbican is definitely booking for 2007, I already have tickets for May 10th and 11th 2007. You can book on line and choose your seat.

Yes the RFH is closed for refurbishment...hopefully it will have better acoustics and more leg room when it reopens rolleyes.gif

Work against your instincts and actively JOIN a mailing list (either e- or snail) - Barbican for example normally publish a brochure several months in advance which you get by post.
