So I guess it's time to review how they're going:

Just in case you don't remember, they were here. (Ignoring all the irrelevant arguing in the middle)

Progress on mine:

QUOTE
I resolve to

- catalogue all the music I collected yesterday. And all the stuff I collected last time.
- learn to play the piano well enough to put said music to good use.
- learn to play the violin ditto
- re-organise the storage in my music room so that it will fit the new stuff
- read the Inland Revenue Guide to Self Employment from cover to cover and start complying with the record-keeping
- sort out a viable marketing plan for getting the local choirs to hire me as a soloist
- sort out the paperwork for the February and April forum concerts
- complete the council grant application for the local music activities I'm involved in organising

- do the flyers and posters for my recital in February
- write my LTCL programme notes
- do some theory

Errr...

- The music is still uncatalogued, and a fair proportion of it is still in a box by the door of the music room where I trip over it every day.....
- The piano playing is still moving on, and I've tried a couple of things from the box, but still have a way to go to play most of it.....
- Grade 1 violin done. But the music in question is the Mendelsohn, Tchaikovsky and Bach Double concertos, so a bit of a way to go......
- And as I mentioned, the music's still in a box, so storage is still an issue.

Oh dear not doing well so far sad.gif

- Yes! I read the Inland Revenue Guide To Self Employment. And I'm compliant.
- Plan's sorted, mailshots have been sent off, demo CD still needs to be done (prior attempt was disaster 'cos of laryngitis). Shame that there's not yet been any more work from it.....
- February concert done & dusted. April concert paperwork well under way.
- Grant application was successful and activities are happening.
- Flyers, posters and recital all happened in February. Need to start work on June one.
- Programme notes done

That's a bit better smile.gif

- I bought another theory book and signed up for the Grade 6 challenge in June

hmmmm.....

Ah well, not too bad after all.

Anyone else going to post their progress?
Oddball
I have walked to school every morning this year except for one! Can';t be bad...

My new year's resolutions:
-not to get stressed over GCSEs
-find other meaningful things to do with my time other than the orchestar I don't go to any more
-prove to myself and a conductor that I do not need an orchestra to be a good bassoonist
-start a wind quartet with some of my friends

-failed with that already
-not really. wanted to go for bike rides, but landed up completing coursework sad.gif
-sort of there. I can play bassoon, not to a great standard, but I'm getting there. Just sometimes I threaten that the bassoon is more useful for firewood than being an instrument.
- nope. I managed to get it organised then everyone else pulled out.

I'm not doing that well am I? sad.gif

Actually I think you are. You set yourself some really tough targets, and you're on the way to meeting at least one of them.

There is another thread on New Year's resolutions, here, which is where I posted mine. They were

  • Pass Grade 3 practical
  • Pass Grade 3 theory
but I can't really comment about them yet, but I'm sure I've passed my Grade 3 exam. I'm sure there were others, but I can't remember them. unsure.gif
