I have 2 pupils who have just taken Grade 2.
I am really just looking for ideas now on what to do before we progress to grade 3.
I am familiar with the Bergmuller studies and the "up Grade" series and I always keep scales on the go.
There is so much choice these days.
Their ages are 11 and 8.
Thanks in advance.

I like Pam Wedgewood's Easy Jazzin' about for after Grade 2 - it introduces 2 parts in the LH and other ideas needed for Grade 3

Have a look at the Microjazz Collection series. I used the 2nd book recently, and it has different jazzy pieces, including Get In Step from the Grade 2 syllabus.

I've just bought the 1725 notebook of Anna Magdelena Bach of 1725 (ABRSM edition, about a fiver)
This has a collection of ~25 pieces of varying levels of difficulty, the easiest being Musette which is presently on the grade 2 exam.

Some good suggestions already; I also like Pam Wedgwood's Jazzin' about Styles for this level.
Martha Mier's Jazz Rags and Blues -
probably the second book as she has taken grade 2.
Lazy Days (Brian Chapple). The blurb on the back says it's approx grades 1-4, but don't be put off by that - a couple might be marginally easy but most I'd put at grade 2 and up.
Clocks and Wrong Number are good fun.
Either of the Classics to Moderns Blue books might be ok.

Making the Grade is a good series of books to investigate too.

Another vote for Microjazz. Also I have several pupils studying the Piano time series as fun repertoire pieces, do a search, Piano time jazz, classics, sports etc.

Take a look at the London College's Grade 2 repertoire. Loads to choose from, and some really good stuff that they'll love. In the Hall of the Mountain King is very popular with my pupils. It's in Louise Chamberlain's "Step it up", Grades 2 - 3.
