can i plug a bass guitar into a guitar amp? i am getting a bass guitar tomorrow and don't want to spend money to buy a bass amp? my guitar said that my guitar amp would be broken if i do that...... blink.gif

Hi PianoandFulte, you can depending on the amp. If you have a large one then it is ok. However if it is just a small practise amp then it is likely to blow it up. Usually, at 10+watt amp is okay. Hope this helps.

oh, mine is just a very small one sad.gif how much would it costs me if i get a small practise bass amp?

I wouldn't recommend it. You certainly won't get a great tone by doing so, but as long as you keep it at low levels you should be fine. You run the risk of damaging the speaker cone as guitar amps generally specialise.

You have a speaking guitar ??

Don't plug your bass into a guitar amp !!! It would be OK at low volume levels, but as soon as you get tempted to turn up slightly you will destroy the speaker cone !

You can get a practise amp for about 30-50 pounds.

I agree, it's not worth using it through a guitar amp. Small bass amps are so cheap it's just not worth risking your guitar amp. You should be able to get a little bass amp for under £40.
