I have my A-Level recital on Tuesday, and I should be practising, as I can do more with the interpretation side of things on two out of my three pieces, but I'm just so sick of them! It doesn't help that one of them is a rondo (the 4th movement of the Spring Sonata by Beethoven) so I've had the main theme stuck in my head for the last 3 months.
Many of my friends doing Music A-Level seem fine practising their recital pieces - anyone else out there who just can't face playing their recital/exam/concert pieces any more?

I have my recital on 26th April, and one of the pieces will need polishing up. I just don't want to overpractice at all.But I'll be glad when I don't have to play it anymore.

I had mine on 1st March. I think it went alright...

...but I enjoyed myself anyway. I love performing

Well, I'm doing GCSE music (am doing my final recording on Tuesday) and my solo piece was also my grade 5 exam piece so I was pretty sick of it by the time I recorded it this week! Maybe give the pieces that you know really well a bit of a break otherwise they risk becoming overplayed.
What instrument are you doing the recital on?

The way I did my GCSE was to record a bunch of pieces, and then pick the best one to send off, so none were intended to be sent off, that way I couldn't really get bored of them. But yeah, otherwise I get bored to death of pieces I'm forced to learn, like for exams (2 months for 3 pieces is just too long!).

Back when I did GCSE, we weren't allowed to pick and choose - you did one recital sometime before study leave began, and that was sent off - and you couldn't re-record anything either. It was sent as is.
