I had a bash at the piece I'm supposed to be singing for the forum concert today, and was worried to hear that my voice is still very weak. Is this because I've not used it for a while, or is it a sign that I still have laryngitis?

Jane, you're still recovering from Laryngitis. As a guide, it took about three weeks for my voice to be fully back after my bout last month.

Don't force it - if a note comes well and good, otherwise wait until tomorrow.

You can work on a piece without actually singing it - look at the words, look at the phrasing, maybe pick out the accompaniment on a piano so you learn your cues. Then when your voice is ready, you can start singing work on it again.
