Hey guys,

Been looking at the 2nd movement of the Brahms, and was just wondering what you thought the best way of doing the fingering at bars 121 and 122 was. I've been doing a right hand Ab, then a left hand F. Then I've done a left hand Gb near the top knuckle of my little finger and sort of rolling back onto the Ab key. Is that the best way of doing it, or is there a better way?

Thanks
Deborah
"The best" fingering is the one which you find easiest. I'd do RH Ab, then LH-RH F, i.e. change fingers halfway through the note, before LH Gb and RH Ab.

Same as Deborah...think of it as subdividing the 1st beat into "two quavers"......first quaver - LH, then second quaver - RH.

I do almost the same but instinctively do the swap on the Gb rather than the F......though I think that is a legacy of an old instrument where the LH Gb key was a slightly uncomfy stretch. If I was learning it new I'd probably swap on the F to minimise the RH movement.
