Hi everyone!

Our string quartet at school wants to add Mozart to the repertoire, but we're having difficulty in finding a suitable piece. We have 2 violinists about grade 7 standard and a diploma standard violist. Our school has no cellists so we have a double bass instead (transposing up an octave)- so the cello part shouldnt go too high or get too fast (but I dont mind practicing!). All of us have our A-levels coming up in summer so we cant spend hours practicing- a short and sweet piece would be fantastic but not so easy that we want to bang our heads against the wall! Does anyone know of such a piece?
Please write back!

Thanks,
Jen

Eine Kleine would work. That's my quartets "oh ###### we've got nothing to play and a concert tomorrow" piece. Much the same standard as yours, grade 8ish violins, grade 6 viola and grade 8 cello.

K156 is not too long and not too difficult, the adagio is gorgeous.
