Maybe exams just aren't for you - they don't suit everyone.

Have you had your exam dates yet?
saxlover
no i havent had any dates. my teachers hope they will have them by the time i go back to school, but no news is good news coz it means my exams wont be in the 1st week!!lol

Just believe in yourself and you'll be fine, before I started having private tuiton (sp?) it was like it was drummed into my head that I shouldn't believe in myself and I always just scraped a pass, now I believe in myself I'm getting merits and distinctions. You're teacher must believe you can do it, so you can and go for it! biggrin.gif

I've also got my piano exam this term, I really wish my exam was tomorrow to be honest, I feel completely prepared and I don't want to go stale before my exam. I'm doing my pieces from memory!! biggrin.gif
Atari
Yes.. about the "stale before an exam". The waiting is the worst part. Sometimes you can loose what you had if you continually play the peices over and over. Any ideas for "saving yourself" until the exam date??
saxlover
i just try to play lots of other music for a few days and not touch my exam stuff then go back to it.
hgirl

Natalie, you want your piano exam on the same day? that would be my idea of ######! two exams in the same session are bad enough- but 2 in the same day! good luck! As far as I know all the northern ireland exams are over by the end of june, though the diplomas stretch into the first week of july (mine's on the 28th june- i got the official letter the other day- scary!)

But if you have to travel to a centre surely you would want them on the same day because of time and expense unsure.gif

well yes that's what my teacher thought-it would be easier to just go there once and get them all over with rather than having to go again a few days later!
hgirl
Yes, I suppose you're right. i never thought about the centre being far away- my centre is about a 10 minute drive away- the building where I have my lessons! I didn't swear the last time by the way- I said h_e_l_l, well, obviously the moderator thinks that's swearing! Good luck natalie! laugh.gif

I'm doing my grade 4 flute exam and I'm regretting saying I'd do it now! laugh.gif I've been unwell for ages (don't know why) so I haven't been able to practice and I've forgotten half of my scales! unsure.gif The exam's in July. Why did I ever agree with my teacher that I'd do the exam? WHY??? Am I mad? blink.gif
Gemini
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all you exam takers. I really hope you all do well and can't wait to hear the results. I sincerely hope you get a lovely examiner and a super piano for those taking piano exams.
Good luck everyone
