Hiya.
I wondered, if you listen to the song "Finally" by Cece Penniston, you will hear her "growl" on the words "finally".
Especially, theres a part in the middle/endof the song when she hold the "fine" note of "finally" and growls on it.
ANYWAY, wat i wanted to know is if this was method/techniqued which has a name.
Does anyone else do it?
Ps. if anyone doesn't have the song, just ask me to email it to you.

Haven't you asked this question before more than once, and not got much response?

It is! We've had this discussion before I'm sure!

I've only ever heard this "technique" called growling, so I would stick to that term. People like Tom Jones and Lulu have used it a lot and have had lengthy careers as well as many black soul singers, like Cece. So I would just "go for it"!!!
