I don't want to be cruel, but what has been your lowest ever result????? Mine has been grade 2 recorder, the score was 123 but hey it's still a merit! I'm not going to laugh, it's just curiosity (spelling??)! Feel free to leave ANY comments! This is just a bit of fun!
Thanks

Mine was 132- but I've only ever done 1 practical music exam.
I did fail A level chemistry first time though. (and Physics A level twice)

I got 115 for grade 6 piano and was quite disappointed because I hadn't performed to my best and felt I could have done much better
On the other hand, if I get this for G8 I'll be more than thrilled...

Couple of scrape passes at Grades 3 & 4 flute when I was a youngster (early 1980s) - 108 and 102 respectively if I recollect correctly.
Since re-starting as an Adult Learner: 130 for Grade 8 singing. But I haven't done my Grade 5 piano yet

105 for Grade 7 violin back in the 70s! In those days you had to play 3 pieces AND a study for grades 6 & 7 - plus the usual scales, sight-reading and aural. I failed the study, the scales and the aural - the only thing that saved me was the sight-reading...

I failed grade 6 piano with 96 (I think), BUT I did have a good excuse, my teacher who entered me for the exam moved to Spain very suddenly (tax dodge I think) about 6 weeks before the exam. I then moved teacher and took grade 7 piano the next term and got 128 merit!

Associated Board - I think it was about 113 for Grade 1 or 3.

111 for grade 3 flute, but it was partly the teachers fault, she only gave me the study a week before the exam and we never did sight- reading.

Mine was 76.5 / 100 for not only harmony 4, but counterpoint 4 and analysis 5 as well! I don't know what it is with me and that number. (Levels 4 and 5 aren't grade 4 and 5. Our theory goes completely on it's own "number" system, so level 4 goes with grade 10 practical, really).

I must say, most of you seem to have quite high 'lowest' marks!
Mine was 98 for Grade 8 Flute. I retook it a year later and got 125! I'm not quite sure I'd done a lot of work in between and played any differently! I think the first examiner was a bit too hard!

My lowest mark is also my most imopressive mark (not that is is my highest, but I was shocked when I got it) it is 100 for Grade 7 piano...slap bang on the pass margin....it was the worst exam I had ever done....and the week I did it I also had my driving test (which I passed) and 2 Further Maths A level exams (which again I passed) but did I pass any of them well....ummm....no apart from driving.
But, yeah, I am pleased I passed, and with such an impressive score

My lowest was 106 for grade two oboe. I admit I played really badly in that exam. It didn't help we were in the boiler room in the middle of june though.
I've only done two exams though so I'm sure I will have plenty of opertunities to do worse

My lowest violin is 130.
Lowest piano/jazz piano was 128 or something. Maybe 129.
But I got a pretty low pass (C+ or B-, can't remember) for practical musicianship - never took a lesson in it!

right... where do i start? i failed grade 3 piano, that was ages ago though, i've failed grade 5 piano 3 times now... and grade 6 theory twice, just scraped it with 68! i got 100 on my grade 4 flute... but! the examiner died after having a heart attack just after my exam, so the board let me through. I dont think my music was that bad! I've also had the examiner miss out bits of a grade 3 musicianship exam... so i have to redo that one... i think theres more! but i have had some of the worst examiners the board have, i think about 5 of them have been retrained!!!!

Hmm my worst was definitely my grade 8 on bass, i got 102! But it was my 17th birthday and I was due to leave on tour a few hours later with my youth orchestra so it was a VERY stressful day! I failed my scales (got 6) and just failed one of my pieces. But I only had two and a half months prep for it so I was really pleased!
I also got a C in bio and a D in chem (AS levels)... but I retook and got A's! WOO!

Sorry to say this, deviless, but there is something seriously wrong with your teacher if you have failed Grade 5 piano THREE times...
I really feel for you.
Hope Bagpuss's flute session with you was helpful! Are you going to have another one sometime??

There is definitely a problem if you are failing so many exams and just scraping a pass in others. Do you have the same teacher for piano and theory? Maybe you should consider changing teachers.

I'm afraid I'm inclined to agree with noodle and Cyrilla.
Do you feel you're getting the best out of your piano lessons, or do you feel you could be doing better? Remember, do what's best for you, not for anyone else.

Hmm, well I had a dream last night that I got 124, so I'm hoping I've suddenly aquired an ability to see into the future. Might get my results today actually, but knowing what the postal system is like round here, I'll probably get them late next week.
