97 for Grade 5 Piano, taken when I was 9 years old.
Retook it, with different pieces, and got 130.
The piece that REALLY let me down was a Gavotte by Shostakovich... it turned me right off Shostakovich for years and I still have a psychological problem with performing his music...

I failed my grade 4 trumpet. Not sure what I got exactly but it was somewhere in the 90s. I passed 2nd time though.
I've only ever got between 100 and 110 for all my exams, which are low but I don't mind, I keep progressing and thats the main thing I suppose

The lowest i have got so far is grade 1 107. However i am still waiting for my grade 4 violin results, I had spraned (spelling?) my wrist the day before and for my exam my hand and wrist were swollen and bandaged up. It hurt so much playing and i found it hard to concentrate, so i don't think i have done that well, but xfingers crossedx i am hoping for at least a pass.

My lowest mark was for my last exam on Grade 6 Saxophone which was 116. Though oddly enough i got the higest ever mark i've ever had for a piece but got bad marks for the two unaccompied pieces but the only real criticisms were that I went sharp when playing right up high and didn't 'characterise' the other piece enough!
I did have flu though so i think that's rather impressive!

I got 82 for Grade 4 Sousaphone a few years ago. I thought I'd played quite well. Where I think I lost most of the marks was that the exam room was quite small and because I move around quite a lot when I play, I kept (accidentally) hitting the examiner, even when he'd told me to be more careful..

But my most spectacular fail ever was 17% in a geography exam, followed by 35% for an art exam. Oh dear.

I understand that you don't want to be cruel, I find your intrest in such a meaningless matter bizarre. My lowest mark was 103 in grade 2 flute (by the way, you can laugh loud and hard if it makes you feel good!!!), I do not feel this makes me any less of a musician, but you should feel free to judge. I do, however, find it sad to see that you are not asking people of their proudest moment but the worst that they have ever done! I am also of the belief that exams are not everything and had you asked the opposite and less negative question: What was your highest mark? I would say 136 which is reasonably good, however, this is fairly meaningless as it was mearly grade one flute!

There are several threads asking the best mark. Some people can get a bit carried away with their achievements, there is nothing wrong with a thread like this so people can sympathise with each other and strive for betterness!

Sorry I was in a foul mood, I just hate some musicians attitude but I sure you were not saying what I thought you were. I really don't like people being judged simply on exam results, but hey I guess you and everyone else knows the flaws of the system in the same way I do! Sorry!

well i know this isn't MY worst result but my brother did his clarinet exam and got 102. he could hav got higher if he didn't refuse point-blank to do the scales he didn't practise, change his reed in the middle of the exam and complain that the sight-reading was stupid and it was too hard. haha. really i'm not kidding, i was in the next room and heard it all!

I'm still coming to terms with mine. I took grade 8 clari last xmas and got 102 so appealed the result as I'd never had lower than a merit before, retook the exam at easter and got 105. No idea where I'm going wrong, I practice for 2hrs every day. I know all my scales back to front, and my pieces, dont feel especially nervous about exams but for some reason the moment I get into that exam room I become a different person without knowing I guess. I dont want to give up clarinet but I really have no idea what I'm doing wrong in these exams. I had planned to take clari as my prinicpal study at uni but mabye not... I get better results in my sax exams (had a 30/30 for a piece in my grade 6 exam!) but I dont enjoy playing sax as much as clari. ARGH.

I got 97 for grade 5 flute (since passed grade 6 with 129) but did have an arm in a sling without any feeling in my lower arm- I had to place the arm onto the flute... not breath in to much as my shoulder is very painful.... and lift up the fingers with the other hand. I think that a mark of 97 was quite impressive- but could have given me 3 sympathy marks surely?
