Yes. The Motley Fool, which is a personal finance thingy.

Snap! Though not so much these days.

That website completely changed my life. Yes, I know it's melodramatic, but I discovered it in 1998 and read their 'simple' guides on how pensions work, state pensions, IFAs, savings, investments etc. Amazing! I can't believe that millions of people actually don't have a clue about how their pension schemes work, or how they are being ripped off big time!

Unfortunately, the website crew have lost some of the zeal they once had, but the discussion boards are still going strong.

Not to mention 'Jokers corner' which has some of the best jokes on the net and 'Land of serious topics' where you read about things you'll never hear on the BBC or in the tabloids.

TSR is fun! tongue.gif I can't seem to get off it though.

The first forum I joined was (is) the Harry Potter one. I joined it in June 2003, after Order of the Phoenix was released... and though I wouldn't go as far to say that it changed my life, it certainly has made a big impact. Before I didn't even know that the Internet existed! tongue.gif

Forums can be dangerous or a waste of time, but some forums (like this one) are really good. You get to meet lots of new people with similar interests as you.
possom
pianoforum.net and moneysavingexpert.com both very useful for a poor piano teacher tongue.gif
meerkat
I run a feminist discussion board, which is probably my main online commitment. I used to use a couple of political debate sites, but I've gone cold turkey on them, as they take up so much time.

music wise, I use this site, and mostly just read on the international cello society forum.

I'm a bit sad really......... My main forum is 'lost' at channel four laugh.gif

musicbox
Yep! GeekStinkBreath.net forums and my friends Fall Out Boy website, which is just the same as GSB but just for FOB! And Ultimate Guitar.
Alicia Ocean
I am a member of an instrument-specific forum.

I'd like to find a more general music-making one too.
Does anyone belong to other music forums like this one?

8notes.com seems friendly.

Now this is what I call a resurrected thread!

Matt Molloy
Hmm.

Member of http://www.delcamp.net/forum/en/index.php Classical Guitar forum, Violinist.com and a couple of others.

Used to be a member of a Kendo forum but haven't trained in a long time so stopped bothering with it.

Cheers,

Matt.

Pistonheads (only use for local meets now), here, e90post.

A quick look through my bookmarks shows that I'm a member of 8(!) or so forums, of which I visit maybe half of them regularly. Though I was googling piano forums earlier, and found a couple that looked interesting.
lottie
I'm a member of one art forum and two dog forums.

I got bored of the art forum but visit the dog forum usually everyday and have made a lot of friends through it.

My favourite is the ABRSM though and it's made a big impact on my 'musical' life because I learn so much!

(but I really need to spend less time online.... ph34r.gif )
Nick Cook
A saxophone one and a golf one.
The Old Lady
A patchwork and quilting one. smile.gif
Car Expert
I'm also a member of The Student Room and the Driver Training Today forum (which I've yet to post on despite being a member for a few months now - nor has my instructor ironically who recommended it to me laugh.gif).

Obviously I visit this forum more regularly than the other two.

Um... I go through phases. When I was still in school I used one called HSN - I still log in from time to time, but to answer questions rather than to ask them. smile.gif I use one other, sometimes, depending on my state of mind. smile.gif
miss sooky
Two others - a medical forum and a theatre forum both of which are less appealing than this one.

I've never been a forum regular like I am on here elsewhere. I guess I'm a bit of an amateur on here compared to some members, though. tongue.gif
buffy
I am a member of mymerhaba which is a forum for ex-pats living in Turkey. I tend to read rather than contribute though.
Alder
Turns out when I check my bookmarks that I'm a member at about a dozen forums...!

However, I only check perhaps four of these regularly, and another couple every few weeks or so. The others tend to be 'specialist' ones (like a maths forum I joined to solve a particular problem) so I've barely posted there.
