Yes. The Motley Fool, which is a personal finance thingy.
Snap! Though not so much these days.
That website completely changed my life. Yes, I know it's melodramatic, but I discovered it in 1998 and read their 'simple' guides on how pensions work, state pensions, IFAs, savings, investments etc. Amazing! I can't believe that millions of people actually don't have a clue about how their pension schemes work, or how they are being ripped off big time!
Unfortunately, the website crew have lost some of the zeal they once had, but the discussion boards are still going strong.
Not to mention 'Jokers corner' which has some of the best jokes on the net and 'Land of serious topics' where you read about things you'll never hear on the BBC or in the tabloids.

TSR is fun!

I can't seem to get off it though.
The first forum I joined was (is) the Harry Potter one. I joined it in June 2003, after Order of the Phoenix was released... and though I wouldn't go as far to say that it changed my life, it certainly has made a big impact. Before I didn't even know that the Internet existed!

Forums can be dangerous or a waste of time, but some forums (like this one) are really good. You get to meet lots of new people with similar interests as you.

I run a feminist discussion board, which is probably my main online commitment. I used to use a couple of political debate sites, but I've gone cold turkey on them, as they take up so much time.
music wise, I use this site, and mostly just read on the international cello society forum.

I'm a member of one art forum and two dog forums.
I got bored of the art forum but visit the dog forum usually everyday and have made a lot of friends through it.
My favourite is the ABRSM though and it's made a big impact on my 'musical' life because I learn so much!

Um... I go through phases. When I was still in school I used one called HSN - I still log in from time to time, but to answer questions rather than to ask them.

I use one other, sometimes, depending on my state of mind.

Turns out when I check my bookmarks that I'm a member at about a dozen forums...!
However, I only check perhaps four of these regularly, and another couple every few weeks or so. The others tend to be 'specialist' ones (like a maths forum I joined to solve a particular problem) so I've barely posted there.
