I just took my piano grade 1 exam yesterday and very much disappointed myself.......

I got so nervous and did 2 of the scales wrong and my hands got frozen in my first song......

I'm just hoping for a pass~

Any of you taking piano grade 1 exam too? I heard people skipped grade 2 and take grade 3 after grade 1. Any suggestion?

Don't even think about the next exam yet.
Play lots of things in between exams to build up your skills.

Lots of people make flaws in their pieces and their scales, and don't do as badly as they think. It's a psychological thing with humans - people think they have done worse than they actually have

I did loads worse than that when I did my grade 1, and I still pass lol. I am sure you have too. Best of luck.

Plus, people seem to remember the bad stuff more clearly.

I took grade 1 last December and I'm planning to take grade 2 next December-If I'm ready. Remember there is no rush- enjoy playing first- exams if you want to do them second.

As it's your first exam , you'll think you would never even get a pass, but on the contrary , you may get a distinction .

The examiner knows quite well how nervous you are and how your nervous state reflects on the way you played..

Thank you all for supporting. I'm feeling a bit better now. But no matter what it comes out, i'm not going to give up anyway.......

you wouldn't believe it but i really thought i failed my grade one and i even stopped playing my violin. i was actually going to give it up because i thought i failed, but i passed and really it's not as bad as you thought it was. honest..XD
