Hey,
I'm hoping to buy my own tenor sax this year, & have seen a couple of Bueschers, for quite reasonable prices. I don't know much abut the sound or age of Bueschers, & cant find much on the interent.
Could anyone please tell me if they are any good for jazz, & what sort of sound they create! Thanks

Yeah - tenor is my favourite sax, but I'm currently borrowing one, & want to buy one before my contract thing runs out!
Thanks - J

I've tried a Buescher clarinet (a student model), and I personally didn't particularly like it, but I've never tried one of their saxes of any size. Hopefully there is a forum member out there who has tried a Buescher sax....

I think Buescher's are vintage American saxes and vary widely from professional to student models. If it's an old sax it could be anything from well-maintained to unplayable.
There's a lot of information on vintage saxes on the saxontheweb forum, so that's worth a visit. Given that you already play sax to a decent level the best advice is probably try it and see what you think. Bear in mind that if you like the sound and feel, a trip to a repairer can sort out the action, any dodgy pads etc
