Since I now have a bit more time to practise I took out Faure's 13 Barcarolles, and am trying to think where to start. Does anyone have any favourite of these, and what ones are good for someone around grade 8 piano (but not diploma yet!).

No. 4 in Ab is on the current Grade 8 syllabus.

Although the one in A minor, is on the Dip syllabus, it's a lovely piece, and I think that you may want to perseve with it. It has a beautiful cantabile feel.

Thanks andante and joyjoy. I'll have a look at these. Does anyone know where I can see previous lists to see what have been graded in the past? Someone posted a link to something a while ago but I can't remember it.

I've posted a link to the edexcel difficulty list in the past, but I've just checked it and the only one it lists is No 3, which is classified as a Grade 8.

Not so useful in this instance (you've got the only one in this list) but here's a link to difficulty graded pieces Jen W posted a while ago smile.gif.
