Help - my son is taking Dip on trombone on 30.6.04 at Glasgow. He has no accompanist - can anyone out there help him. I understand the music is very tricky.

Doesn't his teacher know anyone who could accompany him?

I had the same problem- my diploma is on the 28th of june, and up until yesterday i didnt have an accompanist because the music was so hard, and none of my usual accompanists could play it!
I eventually got one by asking round as many people as possible (which I assume you're doing)
try your local music centres/orchestras/schools. You could do an internet search for accompanists in your area or put an advert in the paper.
Good luck!

Hope you've found one by now. If not, have you tried asking your local music shops, or at the exam centre?

If you go to Musicteachers.co.uk you could do a search on your location + accompanists, and might strike lucky.
I tried it out (guessed your region as Strathclyde, don't know if that's quite right) and there is one accompanist listed. You'd need to check out credentials I guess, but might be worth a try if you still haven't found anyone.
best of luck

Where are the diplomas held in Glasgow? Is it at the RSAMD?
