Full Version: Practising Away From The Piano

I have a Grade 2 pupil taking an exam this session. His mother announced that they will be away for 2 consecutive weeks in May, she was very apologetic about this.
I have been thinking about some exercises that he could do away from the piano during this time.
Has anyone got any suggestions about this?

Thanks

I once delivered our small keyboard to a pupil (Grade 1) who was going on holiday, and demanded that he take it with him - complete with adapter plug. He did.

I would not worry him with exercises to take on holiday with him. Let him go and enjoy himself, and if necessary try and fit in a couple of extra lessons before the exam to help him on his way. If he is on course, the two weeks should not be the end of the world.

If you think it would help to keep his music in his mind, perhaps give him a CD or tape to listen to - maybe all the Grade 2 pieces, and show his mother how to practise ear tests with him, clapping, singing back etc.

Hope this helps. smile.gif
