My eldest 2 got their dates today 20 & 21st June - so just 2 weeks & a few days to go

Haven't heard about my date yet, but it's only for a prep test so I'm not too worried and we're reasonably well prepared.
Reading through all the dates and replies given, there seems to be a few discrepancies about the number of weeks notice. I wonder if this is particularly a problem in the summer session when people are asking for GCSE or A level dates to be avoided?

Mine arrived today.
27th June so that's almost 3 weeks and the week I requested.

I've now had the dates for two more sets of exams that (I think) I'll be accompanying:
Notification on 5 June for 2 exams on June 27 (week 3). Week 4 requested (Basingstoke).
Notification on 6 June for 4 exams on June 29 (week 3). Week 4 requested (West Reading).
So far I've had no contact with any of the candidates I've been asked by the two teachers concerned to accompany... Both know how I like to work (early first rehearsal to pick up any ensemble problems before they get ingrained, then at least one more rehearsal near the exam). It may yet turn out that they have all fixed different accompanists and not actually told the teachers. Heigh ho! I'm profoundly grateful that I don't have to rely on accompanying as my only source of income.

My second exam notification arrived this morning (at a different centre from katyjay's). I asked for Week 6, and I got 5th July, Week 4. Interestingly, it's taken three days longer to receive this date than katyjay's, but the exam date is two days earlier.

My exam dates arrived this morning - 5th July. I e-mailed AB to ask them to avoid a week when some pupils were on a school camp and had no reply so I was getting nervous, but we're OK. The kids will have been to their camp and been back for long enough to have a lesson or two, so that's perfect.

Mmmm - when I got mine it was just under 3 weeks away - yet at the same time others were reporting their dates a good week later than mine.

By my reckoning there isn't a week 6 - could explain why you didn't get it.

The week starting July 10 is the last, and that's week 5 in UK and Ireland.

Well, I asked for whatever the last week was described as.

I use the online form, so it's in a drop down menu.

N. Ireland starts earlier than the mainland & finishes end of June when the schools finish. We don't get any weeks into July. Last year the last exam date for here was 25 June I think.

I think that's about the shortest notice reported so far. I thought it generally tended to get longer for the later dates. There's obviously a limit to how quickly the first week can get sorted out after the closing date for entries.

I've been told today that my exam is 12:43 on 26th June (first day of the exams at our centre) - that's only 2 weeks on Monday, not what I call a good bit of notice for an adult learner. I was already fudging setting dates at work this week for meetings in late June and early July due to the not knowing.
I have informed my daughter's teacher of this, but despite both she and my teacher requesting that we get the same day as each other (sharing a clarinet, and minimising time off work), she hasn't been informed of any dates as yet, and told me she'd asked for the second week since we only have two weeks.
So, still don't know if I need to be booking two half days off work or just the one, and that's just for the clarinet! Other daughter taking harp in another centre 30 miles from the first hasn't yet heard when her exam is either.
One would have thought that since the exam session is only 2 weeks at our centre, and they know that the 2 weeks will start 7 weeks after the closing date for online entries (that's another whole week after postal entries) then they should have been able to sort out notice well in advance of 3 weeks.
I think next exam (if I survive this one!) I might ask to join in with daughter's teacher if she does another Private Visit like she did in May for daughter's bassoon exam. Date was known well in advance, just the time was left until about 10 days before, and the result came really quickly, about 10 days after the exam.
Oh well, less time to really panic about the lack of practice being done!!

Mine arrived today for the 4th July - exactly the date I requested (I have very complicated logistics here!) so I'm very happy! I have 13 candidates that day...

Seems to be less notice generally than last session.
I had 5 weeks notice in the spring.

Was given the 3rd July, the only day I am working that week! Managed to change to the 29th June, but at a different centre. So far so good. Sue is looking at the pieces yesterday and today, and will tell me this weekend if she will play. If not, another friend has said she will, and she has a performance diploma, and teaches me piano, so either way I will now be

OK for my accompanist. Phew!

I've just heard that the last exam I'm booked to accompany this session will be on July 14th, i.e. the Friday of the final week, which was exactly the date that the candidate and I were hoping for. Lucky us this time! If you haven't had a date by the end of this week for the main UK session it would probably be a good idea to contact ABRSM to check that the notification hasn't gone astray. KixMusic, have you had yours yet?
