Just wondering. Is there any software you can use to record yourself then burn them onto a CD. I have a audition coming up and we have to send in a CD. I know it might sound stupid but all the other auditions i did was live.
Please help.

Have a look at this thread:-
http://forums.abrsm.org/index.php?showtopic=15213I had only been recording through a minidisc, but when I read that thread I learned that you can do it with a microphone through Windows.
Good luck with the audition

If you want a general purpose software that you can record into and use the same software to burn the recordings onto CD i would advise pyro. This is a cheap piece of software by cakewalk that you can download for about £20.
For more info visit:

I'm afraid I am not sure on that but you can easily make mp3s and thus burn it using something like Windows Media Player

yeh - i use media player for recording to CD because it automatically converts files into the correct format - it saves encoding wave files into something that nero can use properly!

ughh! I can't open audacity. I've downloaded it and but my laptop won't open it. It always says CPU encountered a illegal instruction. It's so annoying.

Agreed. I downloaded version 1.2.4 and it's been trouble-free. I had to set "preferences" to make stereo recordings.
I haven't yet used a mike with it but done several recordings from tapes. I can't come to terms with its reverb and a minor annoyance is the inability to monitor during recording. It's excellent and no-fuss for editing.
I found the whole recording-on-pc issue awkward. Making adjustments on the fly with no monitoring is a bit hit-and-miss - okay when you can do a preliminary try-out but not on for an unrepeatable live event.

I can drag wave files into the Nero window and make it burn them as a standard CD, no problem - it will convert for you.

Can you recording yourself using window media player? I'll try and download the audacity from another computer, maybe it's not opening because of my computer.

My mp3 player has a built in voice recorder, and then I can plug it in my PC and copy it across however I like using Windows Media Player
Good luck with the audition
