My dad once mis-quoted the lyrics to this as "If you don't love me now, s** off, don't go making a blooming song and dance about it!" I still can't listen to it without giggling biggrin.gif

I'll rephrase. There's Big Brother on Channel 4, but listening to a Boeing 747 take off is more pleasureable...

Not too many 747s around here, although RAF Fairford isn't that far away and there are always plenty of vapour trails to be seen criss-crossing the skies in the morning, on a clear day.

Well, I have bypassed our Welsh friend Mathias and climbed up into the organ loft to play a Cavaille-Coll instrument in the Basque country. The start of a journey through the ten organ symphonies of Charles-Marie Widor, played by Ben van Oosten. smile.gif

Before my Dad became a District Chairman in the Methodist Church, he had a post as a Superintendant Minister in Eastbourne, on the East Sussex coast. He decided to devote Saturday afternoons to 'visiting' i.e. going to church members' homes to visit them, especially if they had been poorly. He wondered why he was getting such short shrift, until he realised that these 'little old ladies' were all intent on watching the wrestling on World of Sport and when Dad popped round they were switching off their sets in order to answer the door, peeved at missing out on shouting at the screen, knitting-needles in hand! biggrin.gif

The thundering Cavaille-Coll organ of Saint-Ouen, Rouen, has just delivered the opening Allegro of Syphonie No.6 to my ears. When it's finished, I'll have just the Symphonie No.8 in B major and Symphonie 'Romane' to go (the latter played at Saint-Sernin, Toulouse) in my 'Widor-fest'. biggrin.gif
