I watched that last night..I love the music for The Royal Fireworks. Great to see it performed on period instruments too.
I am listening to The Eroica Symphony. I'm having a Beethoven fest! First the nine symphonies then the five piano concerti.

Diagonally-to-the-left-and-in-the-next-close next door neighbour working on the new bathroom he's installing - lots of drilling and hammering with his windows wide open - and an interesting profane vocabulary exercised when he's got something wrong....
Plus a low-approach aeroplane on its way to Heathrow every minute and a bit.
Plus neighbour-to-the-right's dogs causing their usual mayhem - not known for discipline, those hounds - and their parrot imitating my phone. I know it's the parrot 'cos he's a semitone out.....
So I'm just quietly getting on with my violin practice....WITHOUT a mute.

Yes, I like It was only a Gypsy.

You should have said earlier - I do a JT tribute set at Folk clubs sometimes: Sister Josephine, Leopold Allcocks, Molly Metcalfe, The Lodger and one other which escapes me at the moment. I wish I could do "On Again! On Again!" which is by far my favourite of his.

I'm listening to Crosby, Stills and Nash's 'Our House'.
That's the one in Only Fools and Horses that goes like this:
'I'll light the fire
and you put the flowers in the vase
that you bought, today...'
.... and the chorus is
'Our house, is a very very very fine house,
With 2 cats in the yard,
life used to be so hard,
now everything is easy 'cos of you....'
... I heard it on a film I was watching last night and it took me back.

Aaaarrrrggghhhh!!!! Can't actually get it out of my head once someone mentions it. My colleague at work the other day started humming it, then I started humming it, walked into another office - the sales director was there, he started humming it, then could hear other people in other offices humming/whistling it - couldn't get it out of my head for the rest of the week.
Tis a very pleasant and hummable tune!

but tends to stick there
