Didn't like the play on radio 3 so we turned it off and reached for the pile of CDs.

I bought a double CD of Pierre Cochereau playing French organ music (icluding his own) in our local charity shop (who "don't accept classical discs" as I was told when I tried to take in some LPs) I had heard him live in a theatre years ago in an all-improvisation concert.

This is so different from any organ disc I've ever listened to before - not really a fanatic - and it's stunning. The Notre Dame sound and style is such a world away from Bach

have just listened to Holst's Planets suite for the the first time in my life (with the exception of Mars and the famous fragments of Jupiter). Feel quite bad for being in my final year of university and never having heard it before... I definitely like though. Neptune especially is just something else

Yes. It's a more fun play than the single clarinet sonata, in my opinion. It's for a Bb and an A clari : the A part is somewhat easier than the Bb one...
