Yes, it was part of the Culture Show, my dad watched it. Minimalism is cool.
I'm listening to Nicola Benedetti's new album. Right now I'm on the 3rd mvt of the Mendy. It's really quite enjoyable, many aspects of it I prefer to other versions I've heard, even if there are a few sections which sound less smooth than on the versions by seasoned pros. I would recommend anyone goes and buys it (once it has come down in price a bit).

I bought it as soon as it came out, partly because her first album (the one with the Szymanowski) was so brilliant and partly because I love the Mendelssohn concerto. I agree with you - it's one of the best recordings I've heard. She's an amazing player.
At the moment, though, I'm listening to the soundtrack from The Da Vinci Code.

i'm listening to...
London Beckoned songs about money written by machines - by Panic! at the disco (yes it has that exclamation mark there in their name!) the titles haver nothing to do with the songs. They are strange, and as far from classical as you could get.

I'm on Greig's Holberg Suite, just got 4 CDs (inc 2 doubles) from Amazon this morning

Two sets of the Bach Sonatas/Partitas (Milstein and Grumiaux), Greig Holberg Suite, Tchaik and Dvorak Seranade for Strings, Dvorak New World and some Smetana orchestral stuff.
