No, what's Whit walk sbhoa?

All the churches in the town parade behind a band to the town hall where we have a joint service before marching off in turn back to our respective churches.
It's quite a tradition in this part of the world.
Interesting when you can hear your own band and the band of the church behind you at the same time. unsure.gif

For real brass band fans there is the Whit Friday Band Contests. Every small town has a contest and bands in busses travel around to as many as they can get to from early afternoon until about 10 at night.
In some towns the bands assemble short of the competition ground and march up the main street (playing) to get there.
Nobody with any sense tries to travel by car on Whit Friday around the Saddleworth area and some of the Tameside towns.
