The Old Lady
Hello Everyone,
Could any of you recommend music for piano for me please? I am working toward Grade One in November, and have my Grade One Book, but I would like to play something else too. I did the Alfred's Book One before the Grade One Book. I am struggling with my left hand. TIA.

You can improve on your fingers' techniques by doing:

1) Hanon
2) Czerny
3) John Thompson

Have fun and enjoy!

Hi Beverley smile.gif

The Making the Grade grade 1 book will provide you with some light relief from exam stuff...

Dozen a Day is good for technique, and you can adapt the exercises to focus more on the LH if you like.

Yes, Dozen a day would be good.

Oxford Piano Time pieces (ie not the tutor book) book one, from about page 9 (use the earlier tunes for sight-reading practice).

Oxford (OUP) online has down-loadable (print-off) pieces including some designed for extra LH help - look under books one and two extra pieces to print off.

I would agree on the Czerny and also reccomend Kohler for five-fingers and strength exercises. I hold the following two books dear to beginner piano:
