Hey ya people, I've got a Piano competition and it requires every pianist to have a duet partner, well...I've found my partner, it's just that we can't really decide on a good piece to play that will impress the judges and sound great and be enjoyable @ the same time. Perhaps we're just both perfectionists and very stubbron but, does anyone have anything to recommend?

What grade are both of you?
You can go to www.sheetmusicarchive.net and click into Liszt to see some of his transcriptions. Sometimes the transcriptions are so difficult that it may be considered as piano duet.
In addition, I think there are very little amount of piano duet scores that are difficult, pieces for 2 pianos will be much more.

Look no further high notes - my piano partner and I are playing Elgar's Serenade for Strings as a piano duet and would impress anyone.
You will need to order it most likely.
? Grade - about 7 I would say.

Mrs Beethoven:Do you mean the piece is of grade 7 in piano duet?
I find the grade 8 piece extremely easy. (My brother and I sight-read for about five times.)
Therefore I say that it is difficult to find pieces.

Schubert Fantasie (?) in c# minor is a super piano duet. You can also have great fun with arrangements of Beethoven symphonies for piano duet!

... highnotes didn't actually specify a 'graded' piece and i was just offering my opinion .... To play it with tenderness and feeling is what counts to us.
Can you play the Carnival of the Animals? We can!
