I limited it to 10 because otherwise it is the Gershwin - Cole Porter - Rodgers and Hart etc songbooks
But I agree there are many more than 10

I don't play piano, so I can't speak from any experience of playing. But, if I were listening - (I'm thinking piano bar, or maybe wedding here) and I heard this sort of set list it would be nice but kind of the live version of elevator music. If it was played well I would assume the pianist was playing nice safe stuff he knows the average audience will like. If he threw in the occasional Monk tune I'd appreciate it and recognise the little act of rebellion.
I love jazz, and the more I listen to it the more I appreciate the "out there" stuff. There is a misconception that jazz and "lounge music" are synonymous - I'd like to see that misconception broken down. There is tons of truly cutting edge jazz happening in London at the moment. I think it's really exciting, and I'd love to see the musicians getting wider credit for it. Maybe by not sticking entirely to the safe set lists and throwing one or two more challenging (to the listener) pieces in you could trigger the desire to hear more in one or two of the punters.
just a thought....
