I'm polishing this piece at the moment. Anyone else play it? I love the sound of it.

My concern is that I can't find any recordings of it, and I'm wondering about the tempo - not sure how fast it should be. Does anyone have a sense of the rough metronome mark I should be aiming for?

(It's on the current diploma syllabus, if anyone's looking for it).

Hmm, the only recording I can find of this is on piano; the tempo is in the region of 100 if that's of any use.

If it's any help, you can get the first minute of it here, for a comparison. And I agree, from the first minute it sounds like a lovely piece.

Thanks! I'll try 100.

I can't find the same sonata on the link you gave, trebor (there're other sonata's in A, but not the one I'm after) - but there are some gorgeous samples there, so that CD's gone into my amazon basket!

Number 6: "Sonata for keyboard in A major, K. 322 (L. 483)". Is that not it? unsure.gif I don't really get the K. and L. stuff so I'm probably wrong.

Oh, I'm sorry trebor - there are two lists - a 'Listen to samples' one and an 'On this CD' one. I only saw the 'Listen to samples' one. Yes, you're right, it's there - but while it's number 6 on the CD list, it's number 8 on the samples - rather confuzzling.

Looks like I'm going to have to speed it up a bit!
