Rules
- When PMing me (or whoever's in charge) your votes, you are not allowed to vote for yourself, as it is then fair for everyone else. If everyone's votes for themselves, we won't get anywhere. If you do vote for yourself, your vote will not count. [This rule also applies to the Best Couple category]
- Do not announce who you are going to vote for if it's about the PM votes. It might give the result away too early.
- While the Best Signature and Best Profile Photo categories are running, please stick to your signature/profile photo. If you decide to change it while the PMing votes week is still on, it would not be fair for everyone else if you suddenly get into the top 5.
- For the Most Helpful Poster and Most Humorous Poster categories, only vote for those users who are normally helpful or humorous all the time, all year round, and not just clowning about frequently during or near voting time! As a result, that would not be fair for others.
- For the Best Newbie category, a 'newbie' is anyone who's member number is 5247 or above (as last year's awards ceremony was Nov 12th).
- If you are planning to go away (e.g. on holiday) and want to PM me your votes for the category(/ies) you will miss, please let me know beforehand.

*I had a discussion a few months ago with some forum members in CISD and they said that the Best Couple category should not be in the list. I just want to check that is still the case as there have been a couple more couples that have been introduced recently.
For those who don't know much about the awards, and want to take part this year, this is what will happen:
- I will set up a thread for each category to tell people to vote. All you need to do is to PM me with your votes (you can vote for up to five people), and I will record the votes in my secret league table.
- The points system is: 1st = 5 points | 2nd = 4 points | 3rd = 3 points | 4th = 2 points | 5th = 1 point
- If for example, you only vote for one person, they only get 1 point. If you vote for two people, 1st will get 2 points and 2nd will get 1 point, and so on.
- After a week, I will set up a poll with the top five votes in no particular order. You will be given a week to vote for your favourite, then the winner is announced.
- At the same time, the PM votes for the next category is introduced. It will keep going like that until all the categories have been done.
- Once all categories have been done and a winner is announced, there will be an awards ceremony (date and time yet to be confirmed) where all the winners collect their award(s).
I will be monitoring most of the categories - but when I'm not here, someone else will keep track of them. I will be away on holiday to Lewes for my birthday, so violin-ann will keep track of whatever category is on that week. I will have access to a computer during that week, but [1]I'm doing my Car Make & Reg Awards on that week & [2]I will probably not be on the forums as much as usual. I will also be away in mid-August to the Isle Of Wight, and I won't have any computer access (I don't think), so noodle will monitor that category during that week.
