HI. Sorry for the dumb question but just checking. I think that you can use the 2005/2006 syllabus up until the Easter exam next year (piano). Is this correct. And I think the new syllabus is out soon, any info on whether you can use new syllabus (am getting sick of the old stuff lol) for christmas exam this year.

thanks

Half right.

Assuming you're in the UK, you can use the purple book (2005/06 syllabus) up to and including the Spring 2007 session, which is the first time you can use the turquiose book (2007/08 syllabus).

Am I right in thinking the supporting tests could change though?

Yes - if you use the "old" pieces in the March session you must check all other details in the new syllabus.
They often remain unchanged for quite some time, and any changes are likely to be quite minor, but it's still worth checking - you might miss a scale change or something. Changes are usually listed inside the front cover (under special notices ) so you don't need to comb through the more detailed pages comparing with the old lists.
