Yeah, piano rules!!!
I love all instruments, but as piano is my first instrument and I enjoy it so much, I would love to join the club!

After ten years piano lessons I've totally fallen in love with the piano! shame that my arms hurt sometimes when I play...

Come on, let me join!!! smile.gif
hellokitty
Sorry, violin comes first for me! I've wanted to play it as far as i remember. I was sort of forced into piano. My parents just told me I was starting piano, without asking me. But now I love it (not as much as violin though!!)

Regards, Hellokity xx

PS: May I join PINTQOI too?
CelloPianoManiac
Hmm...virtues for strings and piano...cello is definitely my first instrument so I guess I have to ask if I can be a member of PINTQOI too... ph34r.gif

Jane you CAN change the tone of a piano, by attaching things to the strings

Not quite the same though!

Jane: I'm definitely in the PINTQOI club biggrin.gif

I don't understabnd this silly club, the violin is the unarguable king of all the musical thingies, even the ones that can't be counted as instruments, (Such as the human voice).

I used to play piano but I quit because it was getting boring, besides the violin makes a challenge, you have to actually do something to play the simplest of notes, (Rather than just pressing a key).

Rule, violin, violin rules the waves violins always always always are the king tongue.gif
Piano gurl
pffth..... mushroom how can you be so rude! my piano is offended! tongue.gif

It least piano makes a nice sound from the beginning- i need to put earplugs in when my sisters practising.
*scrape saw scrape* it does sound terrible.

And playing the piano is a lot more than pressing a key- you need to press the right ones for a start and coordinate your hands. "just pressing a key" indeed!

go back to where you came from to your viva strings forum or where ever you go when you're not dissing amazing clubs like this one! PITQOTI rules! wub.gif

You need to press the right keys/put your fingers in the right place, and coordinate both hands and for strings and woodwind too - as well as coordinating breathing etc for woodwind and doing two completely opposing things for strings.

No contest tongue.gif laugh.gif
Mushroom
You lot don't understand! smile.gif
I mean that on a piano you have to just press a key to play a single note, not a whole piece. Whereas on a violin you have to put your finger in the right place, (and judge the right place yourself) to play a single note (Unless it's open strings.)
I realise that you can't play a piece on any instrument by vpressing a key, but you can't even play a simple note on a violin without working something out. this can be very hard when playing 'Napolean crossing the alps' which makes you come off one note, move to a different string, and put three fingers in the right place in the time it takes to play a quaver! ohmy.gif

Besides sarah-flute, I never said anything about woodwind, and I know that can be hard, as I have a freind who plays brass which is similar in the fact you have to breathe in a special way in order to play, but I STILL THINK THE VIOLIN IS THE BEST! (Come on Janexxx, back me up here, I'm supporting the violin. unsure.gif )

P.S Can I be a member of the Piano is not the queen of all instruments club?

Oh my Goodness mushrooms,
if you say the viola is the king i won't be so angry, not the violin.... dry.gif
to be honest and this isn't mean to offense anyone, but violin is my least favourite instrument !! smile.gif I played the violin and was completely sick of it... if you say viola, cello, flute it's better than saying the violin....my goodness, how CAN people like the violin?? It's too common, it's like a clich in classical music/orchestra...have a good think mushroom, i hope you'll change your point of view. sad.gif
Mushroom
How dare You Pianist 1210? The violin is well better.

Have you ever wondered why there are loads of violins and only 1 piano in an orchestra? Because the Violin is so much better. The violin is also much older than the piano, so the piano should respect it (Respect your elders!)

I really don't think I could possibly change my view, the Violin is better than the Piano for now and forever. mad.gif

Plus, Violins get BETTER as they get older, so once you stop growing you should never have to buy a new Violin, they can be passed down for centuries, my first teacher had a Violin that was 100 years old, and still young! tongue.gif

Count me in. It *is* the king/queen.

There's no point explaining why - everyone else (even the string players) know that the piano is the greatest; they're just afraid to admit it.

Oh yes and the colour....black suggests a mysterious feeling...

Have you only ever seen black pianos? blink.gif blink.gif blink.gif

I'm in PINTQOI biggrin.gif
Firebird
At the risk of being argumentative again - cool it, people, even if it's in jest - why does the Principal Horn get paid more than anyone except the orchestra's leader? Is it because the Horn is better than all the other instruments? (While it'd be nice if this were true, it isn't).

The way I see it, there are more violinists to cover up the mistakes and dodginess from the rest of you lot laugh.gif

The fact that there are many violins is what enabled me to be in good orchestras in my last few years at school. I'd've been stuffed if I'd had to be good... wink.gif

Rachmaninov's Vespas

That one I like a lot.

I... just can't think of any good ones. I'm sure the Moonlight Sonata should be mangle-able...

Ken Bruce announcing the orchestra I was playing in as performing "Beethoven's 1812 overture" on live radio takes some beating though. Go Ken... rolleyes.gif

This may be a stupid thing to say, and I am sure you have a legitimate reason, which you would most likely enjoy sharing with us and we would unquestionably love to hear, but if you hate the Piano as much as you obviously do, why bother coming in the Viva Piano section in the first place? Surely your best bet would be to stay clear, and move to the viva Strings instead.
