The First Movement. I've looked at the second movement a bit, but got distracted by Mozart and Bach.

I can play the first and second movements. The third one gave me nightmares so I stopped.

EDIT: Isn't it Op. 27 No.2?

Correct

Depends what one means by "playing" it
If you mean get through the notes etc, I can do the first movement no problem. Playing it properly to a concert standard on the other hand...that's debatable

I have run through the 3 movements few times before, but I wouldn't consider that being able to play the piece. I played with so many stops!!!

Well, I've been playing it for over 40 years, and I am not a professional! The first two movements are straightforward, but all those semiquavers in the third movement seem to faze people, but really its not that difficult. There's certainly not much difficulty in the left hand, so practise the harder passages with the right hand at a slower tempo at first and only speed up as you become more confident. Take your time , and you will crack it. My late piano teacher did it for her Associateship, that must have been in the 1940's!

For me, the hardest bit is trying to get all those right hand trills just right.

I love the 3rd movement. I don't have the score but I glanced through it once and it looks really scary but most of it is appeggios so it's not very hard in that sense I think

Yup, it is, but if you've got the Associated Board edition in 3 volumes, it's no. 14 in there.
Notes are not too hard in the 3rd movement, but it goes ssooooooo fast! Not tried it for years, my fingers are so slow these days

Beethoven wrote 32 sonatas - the Moonlight is number 14. It doesn't matter which edition you have. You need to keep the fingers really close to the keys so that you can play up to speed in the third movement.

i got the score bt never finish playing the whole song flawless, not even once, the left hand chords kept changing and there are too many accidentals, while im only a grade 5 student.
p/s:thats an original score.

I play the first movement semi-pleasantly...
The rest I've messed with, but never put a lot of work into.

One of your previous posts suggests you might be employed by the NHS, so is this your prescription?

I can just about make it all the way to the end of the first movement with my hands aching lol. But it's no way concert standard!
I'm quite pleased really because I'm self taught piano anyway.

Further to my earlier comments, I played it again last night.
One awkward bit is where you have to play an octave, and trill the top note. Ok my hands are big enough to take the octave with my third finger, but I have to release the bottom (thumb) note in order to do the turn at the end of the trill as that requires second finger. I have practised this for ages and still foul it up sometimes. Another difficult bit is where the right hand octaves jump about. But the semiquaver passages arent too difficult to play with practice.

Extremely good value for money - as all study leave expenses for continuing professional development (CPD) have not been paid for the last year due to the Trust's financial deficit!

Not just mine

- it applies universally. If one wants to play at fast speeds, one needs to eliminate unnecessary movements which will waste time and energy.
Later edit: That will be £6.65 please!
