if windows doesn't crash and burn already then I doubt charging for it would make more people use it. Actually come to think of it, windows crashes frequently.

I've never seen an advertisment for microsoft either, it only dominates the market because most programs won't run on linux

Buy a new computer, it automatically seems to come with windows. Most of my friends (bar 1) hadn't even heard of linux before I mentioned it. And linux comes with at least 1 program for whatever you want to do, or you can download them off the internet. So apart from games (which are often ported to linux) you don't need to run windows programs. But you can run windows programs, if you really want to.
