Ah - crazy cow, I know what you mean about 'One Child' - an amazing story.
Although I've always loved reading I find I hardly ever have the time these days.
However, life is a tad stressy at home and at work at the moment, so I'm making the time to read as I desperately need the escapism...
A friend lent me Sue Monk Kidd's 'The Secret Life of Bees' which I loved. I gave Bagpuss the complete set of Ian Fleming's James Bond books at Christmas and she's just lent them to me and I love them! If I have a spare moment or am feeling extra-stressed and in need of escapism I dive in to one for a chapter or two. Just finished 'Moonraker' which is so different to the film but brilliant!
'Diamonds are Forever' next...

Edit - crazy cow, just saw it's your birthday - have a good one!!

One of my friends has now just lent me "Lord Loss" by Darren Shan. It is REALLY scary and gory though which is probably why she lent it to me as she hates the kind of sissy books I read and wants to bring me onto "proper" books. But they're too scary!

Just finished Labyrinth by Kate Mosse (no, not the supermodel). I nearly didn't bother as it was described as "chick lit with A levels" and I ain't a chick but I'm glad I did. Echoes of The Da Vinci Code but better written and even more engrossing.

If you like this sort of books, try "P.S I love you". It's so sad

I can't remember the author, it belongs to my sister. But the person who wrote that, wrote another similar book. Definately worth it...

Just read "The Time Traveler's Wife" which was lent to me (must remember to return it soon!)
Before that I struggled through some of "Moby ####" before I gave up. And now I am reading "Une Vie pour Deux" - a novel.
And I keep dipping into "Trumpet" by Howard Snell - a wonderful book not just about trumpet playing - but I came across it because of an inspiring saxophonist/trumpeter I met on a course.
I'm fairly new to these Forums, but hoping to make more contact with more musicians especially adult learners ---

There's an indication it might be next year (after JKR's recent interview with Richard and Judy). Don't know how definite this is, though. Apparently she's changed her mind about the ending, leading to two characters dying who weren't going to, and one surviving who wasn't meant to originally.

Sorry guys, can't quote stuff

But nope, CPPF does NOT know when itll be released

Though like Andante says, there have been stroing hints that it will be 2007. Liz Calder, the Bloomsbury spokesperson/main thingummy

has hinted that it will be then....though personally I'd rather wait for 2008

Andante, I saw that interview!! There was/might still be a poll on mugglenet on who people think will be the character getting the reprieve...
Got slightly annoyed at all the kiddies on the interview who, given a one big chance to ask JKR a question, asked stuff like 'Who is your favourite character?'

I found it quite strange, Allannah, mostly in the way it is set out, with frequent "chapter headings" - took time to get used to that idea. It took me time to get used to the Time Travel idea - perhaps I am too firmly rooted in the present (at least I don't THINK I move around!!)
But then when I got the hang of that, yes it was very good. I have a couple of friends who read it and thought it so good. One of them just about insisted I read it!
