I really like that piece; is it on grade 5 flute? I've only heard the full orchestral version, presumably it's arrange for flute and piano in the exam.

Hi missfabflute

I've been teaching the new Grade 5 syllabus since last September. The most popular choices are Anitra's Dance or Dove Sono from List A, and Tico Tico and Faure Sicilienne from List B. Anitra's Dance is very tricky to get together with the accompaniment. If you choose this piece, make sure you get a recording so you know how the parts fit together. I have produced a midi version which my students can play on their computers for practising.

List C has not thrown up any real favourites. I have 3 people doing Ringing the Changes, two doing the Nicholson study, two doing the Damase study and one doing the Paul Harris Rumba. The choices are much better than the old syllabus.

Hope you enjoy whichever pieces you end up with smile.gif
