The awards have now officially launched for 2006.

The PM lines have now opened for Category 1: Best Signature. You can PM me with up to five votes, as to who you think have the best signature(s). Remember to rank your nominees if you're voting for more than one person; 1 being the highest and 5 being the lowest, so I know how many points to give them. Also, you can't vote for yourself.

I will not answer any PMs if I do not need to (as this just fills up the other person's inbox), but I will provide a list on this post to say who has PMed me, so you know if your vote(s) have been counted.

Also, try to stick to the same signature during this week please, otherwise if you decide to change it while the PMing votes week is still on, it would not be fair for everyone else if you suddenly get into the top 5. If you want to give your signature a very minor facelift, then you can do so, but try not to change it so it is completely different to how it was originally. You are free to change your signature as much as you want after next Sunday, as I will have copied the signatures on the first post of the poll thread.

The PM votes will close on Sunday 9th July at 2130 BST, which is when I will publish the poll for this category for the top 5 votes, and open the PMing votes for the next category: Most Supportive Person.

You've probably noticed on my PM that rather than ranking each person from 1st to 5th, I've already assigned them their points CE (i.e. in the format member ABC, 5 points; member XYZ, 4 points etc. )

Many years ago, when I went on holiday to the old style holiday camps, the chalet lines were lettered from A-Z, then when they got to Z, it went ZA, ZB, ZC, ZD etc.

I'm sure Car Expert has this in hand, knowing him, he'll have already written out the leading seven or eight signatures to copy out on the poll thread when it comes to it noodle (CE will I'm sure confirm).

Yep, I will do the same again last year, and post the signatures on the opening post. As I said, I want to change my signature as soon as I can to add the award details to it (as well as deleting parts of it to free more characters), so if I add my signature to the opening thread (if I go through), then at least everyone can see what it used to look like.

A clue as to who will go through: I think the 1st place person has broken the PM voting points record, as the standard of PM voting for this category in particular (not sure many other categories will be the same standard, but we'll see) has gone up since last year. The top 4 look as though they are guaranteed a place in the poll, while the 5th place person is a few points ahead of the 6th place person. I don't think no-one else will catch up to them by the looks of things, but they still might have a chance if more people vote for them between now and Sunday.
