It makes it hard though if you're trying to give out results before the holidays. Some pupils are away for the holidays and would then have to wait until September. ohmy.gif mad.gif

I've worked at an exam board, and getting the results out on time is more complex that at first thought.

Firstly the board gets all the mark forms, then has to register all the details on thaeir databse before issuing the certificate (if appropriate) and sending it out. It's not just one result they are dealing with, but thousands!

Me too. And I didn't make the entry so I can't check online sad.gif

I got my pupils results today online - they took them on the 29th June. However I didn't get an email which is really annoying.

Still haven't got my results for my grade 8 violin from the 26th yet, so it looks like I'm going to have to do my grade 8 piano on monday still not knowing what I got on the other exam. sad.gif

And I've just had my last lesson before summer, so although my teacher will phone me when she gets the results, I probably won't get the certificate/marksheet until september. sad.gif

Very unfair indeed. My students did their exams on the 15th of June, but the local rep will not release the results yet. Apparently because today was the last day of exams for all 3 examiners. And I just took my exam today, and yet the rep told me that I can collect ALL the results end of this month. sad.gif sigh... just doesn't make sense.

Still waiting for results from 26th June as well sad.gif

I wonder if it takes longer now because some-one has to enter all the results online before the certs. are sent out? Or am I being a bit simplistic here?

Susie, if that's the case, bearing in mind that this isn't the first exam sesion where results have been posted online, and that AB KNOW that the summer session is the busiest, why don't they just take on extra staff for the exam period?

There must be loads of college students (or even Work experience school students) who'd love to do such a data-entry job.

Well, I don't know if it is the reason, but I did notice that at Easter my results took longer to arrive, and with everyone here having a bit of a wail about it, I just wondered.....

I quite agree about the students etc and my daughter will be doing work experience next year. What a good idea, maybe I should make enquiries!!

I have worked with them, and often their data-entry is not that accurate or fast.

Well, I'm winding up for a good old strop now.

Some people who sat their theory exams the same day as I did had their results this time last week.

Mine still aren't there.

This is ridiculous. mad.gif

Well I still haven't had my result from the 26th of June.

I starting to get a bit annoyed now.....at this rate I'll get my piano result which i did on the 17th july before the violin one which I did on the 26th of june. It could be that they're at the school where I took the exam but the musical director has gone on holiday and hasn't sent them to my teacher, but my teacher assured me that normally he drops the results off to her as soon as he gets them and that he was going on holiday later in the summer. Or my teacher has gone to germany or somewhere.

Maybe I should ring my teacher up and find out if she knows anymore than me. (I don't think she knows about the online system and she's afraid of computers so I doubt she's checked)

I want my result now!

If its any consolation Katyjay, Steve Hopwood was told his were online, and he can't access them.

Any news yet?

Still awaiting MAtti's singing result, but as he only sat the exam on 12th July, I guess I've a while to wait. Thank goodness, I can contact my pupils in the hols, there are some I know entered by the county music service, and they don't know whether they will get their results before next term as the schools have broken up.

Jo, my result arrived today (eight and a half hours before the e-mail saying they'd arrived). 90% so another distinction.

Haven't heard for my recorder result yet from 7th July. Waiting's by far the worst bit of the exam process.

Well done katyjay!

The AB have just emailed my practical results for this term - a grade 1 flute pass (117), a grade 6 alto saxophone pass (114), and two grade 1 clarinet passes (116 and distinction 134). Two weeks to wait, and at an 'X' prefixed centre, so pleased with the time taken for the results to come through. The grade 1 clarinettist who got 116 is mildly dyslexic, and I'm really pleased for him, as I am for the others! smile.gif
