Hello Everyone,

I have a beginner pupil who has been learning saxophone with me since the beginning of this year. She has progressed quite well in terms of her notes and tone, but no matter what I've tried I can't teach her to tongue.

She blows the saxophone but there is no articulation to it. I have tried teaching her, telling her to make a 'doo' sound, I've explained to her mother how to do it (her mother is a flautist) and even given her photocopies from the tutor book.

I feel I should correct this problem before I start moving her onto harder pieces. Does anyone, particularly saxophonist have any suggestions?
