If you have different exam bordes eg ABRSM...is it harder than the others?
What i am trying to say is:
Is some exam bordes harder than others??

The major boards' exams all carry the same accreditation so grade 5 with one is the same as grade 5 with another. The syllabus is slightly different for each board but people can use these differences to choose the exam which plays most to their strengths (or avoids their weaknesses).

I do my exams with Guildhall and I wouldn't say it's any easier or harder than any other exam boards. I think there might be more scales on Guildhall (don't quote me on it, I'm not 100% sure) and some of the pieces are on a lower grade on Guildhall than they are on AB. I still think they're of a similar standard though.

I just do Guildhall exams because it happens to be convenient and it's what my teacher puts all her students taking exams in for.

I think the only major difference between boards if the aspects they focus on and if these are the apects you wish to concentrate on.

Guildhall up to now have had a rather length set of scales with less focus on other areas but that is all changing in 2007 with the new TrinityGuildhall syllabus.

I have mainly used Guildhall up to now becuase they were one of few boards to offer exams in electronic keyboard/organ but i will be switching to london college for my students in the next few months due to a lot of problems i have had with them which i am sure some of you have seen my posts on.
